Alizah Anne Kaite is a teacher, writer, performer, mother, nature lover, and long-time resident of Georgia. In the fall of 2013, Alizah personally experienced the real-life counterparts to Filbert and Wally, inspiring her to begin writing their stories. "Wally" was a barred owl whose haunting "who-cooks-for-you" call frequently woke her from her sleep in her new home near the woods. "Filbert" made a startling appearance by her foot in the parking lot of a car dealership!

 

Through book sales and performances, Alizah hopes to inspire children to live joyful lives and revere nature. She pledges to donate 10% of profits from books and shows to environmental charities, including NRDC, Archangel Ancient Tree Archive, and National Park Foundation.
